What is interior design?

Interior designer is where you use your creativity to design your home or office according to the client needs.  When you say it is a residential project, an interior designer thinks in a creative manner to understand the needs of the clients to work together to create a dream-home with right planning, colour combination, lighting effects and theme. A designer who works on a residential project is specialized in a particular part of home design, such as kitchen, bathrooms, furniture designing, and ceiling designs.

In commercial interior design, the designer plans the design and space in the office space and building.  A commercial design is very vast.  Wherever you go or see the commercial building or offices you will come across different plan, concept and design.  A commercial project may be a school, bank, office, mall, restaurant or shop. Each commercial building has aspects.  People who work in an office  require a comfortable space to sit and move around the workstation with good natural light as well as artificial lights. These features are important to create a productive and appealing work environment. The features are project-specific. For example, in a mall the shops are designed  with bright colours to attract the crowd.

There are different types of interior designers who are specialized in different fields. Some of the different types of interior designs are:

4.     Healthcare design
5.     Universal design
6.     Exhibition design
